Chutiphon Phisitthanadun (Wit)

The use of photography to capture my surroundings feels very natural to me. It serves me as a token of my memories and experiences. Through my love of traveling, I have been able to see new things, eat unfamiliar foods, and experience foreign cultures. Not speaking the same language as someone else can be truly fascinating; it allows me to  fully observe and pay attention to everything around me. As I was just an outsider, appreciating the ordinary. Over time, these moments have slowly trained me to see the extraordinary in my own everyday scenery.

My photographs convey a sense of aliveness and authenticity in the present, while challenging our hyper-productive culture. In a world where faster, bigger, and more are perceived as better, and where everything tells us that we are not enough, my work guides our attention towards simplicity, delicacy, and the essence of being present in the moment; resisting society’s dominant mentalities.
